Butterfly Chinese Immersion school is a play-based Reggio Emilia inspired program. Our mission is to support children to be healthy, confident, and independent lifelong learners. We accomplish this through setting up a safe, clean and fun learning environment where children can freely explore and discover at their own pace. We also provide a learning environment where children are immersed in Mandarin Chinese in order to “soak it up like a sponge”. We believe any child can learn Mandarin Chinese at an early age when provided the learning opportunity.

Our family style school offers many learning centers in a hands-on, child-directed and teacher-guided environment. We believe learning occurs from dynamic interactions between children and their environment, including from interactions with peers. Teachers observe and facilitate children’s play, and modify environments to reinforce learning through active engagement. Parents are a child’s first teachers. Butterfly Chinese Immersion staff will serve as a great source of support and advice for parents. We work together as a team to create behavioral, social, and educational goals for the child.

Our emergent curriculum supports our goal of cultivating children’s curiosity, developing children into respectful, loving and confident individuals.
